Interesting, nemo. See you've feathered all sides, whereas I usually only 2. That would definitely increase the surface area nicely. I'll have to try that.

New Challenge/ The Knife Feathered Stick
Okay, we've experimented with various tinders, spark tools, and tinder bundles. How do you keep the fire going once yer bundle catches a flame? One tried and true method is to prepare a "feather stick" beforehand. Shave a twig or small stick down two or mor sides, to increase surface area, and, in c...

Well I'll be! Snopes.com and a few other sites confirm that Knotts was Army, a troop entertainer, but not a Marine DI. Double-double irony as it was one of my own Marine DIs who told me Knotts was a also a Marine DI! I was aware that the tatted up Fred Rodgers rumor was false, but here I was thinkin...

Re: .357 rounds downrange
Thanks Viv! The Taurus 605 is essentially a knock-off S&W j frame with a beefier grip. It stings firing .357 but you can can shoot .38 Special all day long! I love it. It's my daily carry piece. I put a lot of thought and energy into finally choosing the 605 and I can honestly say that I'm pleased. ...

Hmmm....
Doubly ironic, as actor Don Knots was a Paris Island Drill Instructor, and by every account I've heard a fearsome one! But I'm all for limited gov, a sentiment which seems on the decline these days. point taken, Harb.

I try not to get involved in politics on FaceBook, but I've been seeing this article pop up over there. What's annoying to me is the assumption that pro-gun = "doesn't care about kids." I hate that. We're all genetically hard-wired to care for children. MJ's attempted power grab of the moral high gr...

Lol that's because they are all in my stash. I prefer the 158 because I have some old k frames Ahhh! Now I know who to rob! My 605 is a basically a j frame. Would it handle the full-house 158? In yer estimation? (With accurate round placement, I mean. I understand it won't fly apart or nuthin'.) - K

As a paid DOD Intel guy, we were taught to assume the conspiracy theory first, but to rule it out immediately when evidence didn't support it. Seems in this case the media really, REALLY wanted it to go the other direction. Frankly? I'll take my trained instincts over media reports any day. This was...

Yes. Yes it does. Not bad for a 2" snubbie!Vividia wrote:.357 has a very distinctive report, doesn't it?
Been experimenting with 128 grain low-recoil and full-on 148 grain Jacketed Hollow Points. The hand sting is the same, but I think I prefer the 128 for accuracy.

Those comments are beat-down-tastic! Couldn't resist piling on. I understand Denver has issues with safety after multiple incidents over the last few years. But it doesn't excuse this kind of blatant propagandism.

Okay, my video software crapped the bed. But it's nothing I can't describe in words.
