My only experience is on the lower to mid side. I have a Burris MTAC 1-4 that's pretty nice but I haven't used much because it's illuminated and my right eye just doesn't do well with illumination. I LOVE my ACOG, but equally HATED the RMR on top of it. Lifting my cheek up off the stock to see it felt ridiculous and hard to hit shit with. Mounted off the side at a 45° and tilting the rifle might not be as bad. If you buy my SCAR and ACOG you can swap them back and forth to see if you like it.....

Absolutely AMAZING burgers!!! The wife's not a beef fan and said it's amazing. 220° for 45 min (still pink) with a little apple wood then take it off to shoot the Kamado up to 500° and slap it in a cast iron coated in bacon grease that was in the heating kamado.
