Reloading Tutorial
I am starting a multi-part "series" here for those that are wanting to get in to reloading but don't know where to start or what's needed. Over the next few threads, I'll outline what you need to get started and the steps involved to "roll your own" loads. One thing I want to stress, attention to de...

Re: SPR Range Report
Excellent write up and a great looking rifle. How does it shoot Wolf? he hasn't taken it hunting yet :llama: Oh contrare! Dunno on Wolf but the 75gr TAP is hell on 'yotes! Shot this female late yesterday evening behind the house. The 75gr HP entered behind the right leg and tore a large hole a...

SPR Range Report
Not too long ago, I built a dedicated SPR. This rig was built for a specific purpose, moreover, for work. My goal was to source components for an uber-reliable rifle capable of good accuracy with factory ammo that was readily available to me. Being a duty weapon, this was paramount. The rifle was sp...

This Ol' Rifle......
Not a custom or anything fancy, but a neat piece and a good conversation starter. Several years ago, when I was in the military, I formed a keen friendship with one of the guys I served with. We first met in Germany where we were stationed. After I came back state-side, I was stationed at Ft. Campbe...

New Paint!
Here's one I just finished for a fella. He was looking for something similar to Multi-Cam for his rig and after I sent him a pic of it, he's happier than a spotted pup. Rifle is a Remington 700 5R Mil-Spec, wears a Badger 20 MOA base and rings and a Leupold fixed 10x MKIV. I bedded her from the lug ...

Re: What to do, what to do....
I'd opt for the 5.56 over anything, ammo is readily available......anywhere. If I were going outside that, 7.62x39, no shortage of ammo......period. Outside that, I'd look at the .300 BLK or a 6.8 SPC II, but I reload and have reloaded for the 6.8 for a while. No sub calibers here, with the exceptio...

Re: Looking to get into reloading.
I'd be happy to do a tutorial here for anyone interested. Reloading is not as complicated as one may think. The number one thing to remember is attention to detail.inthewaterky wrote:Anyone teach a reloading class or would like to teach a reloading class?

Re: Looking to get into reloading.
If you are loading bulk blasting ammo, look at the Hornady Lock-N-Load progressive. Dies average about $30 a set for RCBS and the press is under your budget. For bulk stuff, the progressives are hard to beat.

Re: Sling stud repair, How To DIY
Good write up I do the same except turn the nut out of stock or use a regular nut. Of course a smith would be a few dollars more or may be less :llama: Thanks, I've always done the repairs with the T-Nut as in the post. I've yet to have one come back broken a second time after I repaired them. All ...

Coach, The SPR is a bleeding tack driver with 77gr SMK's over IMR 8208 XBR and the Lightweight Wilson upper AR is a real shooter as well. The Bushy is all business and a "no frills" issued rig. It's uber reliable and no problems ringing steel at 200 yards with the irons. Granted, it's a factory rif...

McMillan Adjustable Cheek Saddle Stops
If you have shot a McMillian stock (A3,4,5) with the saddle cheek piece, I'm sure you have experienced the saddle slipping from time to time. No doubt, this has occured while you were shooting and causing your cheek weld to go to hell in the process. After having this happen (a time or two) I devise...

Sling stud repair, How To DIY
A DIY project for you guys willing to tackle your own repairs and work. Note, this works equally well on wood or fiberglass stocks. A gentleman sent me an HS Precision LTR stock for a bit of work (stud reinforcement and flush cup install) and I thought I'd share a few tips for you guys. It's an easy...

Gotta love some M1A EBR's, here's a couple of my rigs..... Here is the duty rig I carried whilst I worked for the S.O., we had to supply our own patrol rifles if we wanted to carry one. Specs, SAI receiver, built with USGI parts. TRW barrel and oprod, TRW forged bolt and H&R trigger group. Sage EBR ...
