So I have decided on the ruger American ranch now just to decide on a scope. Suggestions are welcome looking to budget about $300 for scope.

Because I want him to learn a bolt action and my current bolt actions he couldnt handle and I want the one shot at a time mindset plus I can put a can on it to be nice and quiet.

Anyone have any experience with the Mossberg MVP .223??

It's Justang that has it and I texted him so he can chime in on the problems he's had. Don't get me wrong it was accurate but he had some magazine issues and some other problems I think

Wasnt really a blanket statement I was just stating that the owner of the gun recommend I get something different because of problems he's had with his.

So after doing some reading I'm liking the ruger American ranch rifle

So I'm looking at getting my son a bolt action rifle he can shoot for fun and hunt with. I'm looking for a .223/5.56 because I know he can handle the recoil and I don't have to buy more ammo. Any suggestions on what rifle to go with?
