Is this a joke?
I'd like to know how this: http://www.kentuckyarmoryclub.com/viewtopic.php?p=8407#p8407 Begets this: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t259/Spookypistolero/boardwarning.png To my mind, there can be two reasons: 1) The mention of a religious figure has offended a moderator, or 2) the fact that I dis...
Re: Del-Ton
I would consider 75 gr heavy, not 62. Reports I've read point to this being a better combat weight, specifically at med to long ranges.

Re: Favorite NON LIGHTER fire starter
Unless used in conjunction with duct tape (to collect mg shavings), I'm not a huge fan of the mag bars. The firesteels attached to them are also usually subpar. My vast preference is towards an army model firesteel and some fatwood (preferably with some jute twine). The jute can be fussed up to take...

Haha, I suppose I should have underscored the favorite bushcraft / camping method, like with something you have in your pocket or pack.
Btw, how does one get that snazzy pistol under their name?

Favorite fire starting method
So what's your fav? Matches, lighter, fire steel, hand drill, road flare? I enjoy doing it the 'natural' way (bow drill/hand drill) but I don't enjoy sweating. Or waiting 20 minutes for heat haha. Met personal favorite is shaving some fuzz off of fatwood and then using my firesteel. Its speedy and w...

Ray mears has a few good ones too. I'd say just searching bush craft knife would lead to other decent vids.

There's a bad ass in YouTube 'hobbexp' I think. His stuff is great. I've got a couple of small vids on blade reviews and kit selections.

- That quote never mentions HP/mp testing for their barrels. Which means they almost certainly aren't testing. - 1/7 will stabilize both heavy and light bullets. 1/9 will not do the same. - I read a dozen medical studies a day, from case reports to blockbuster trials. Should I wait until I see adver...

I like a good ol' M4 pattern. I don't much care if it's carbine or midlength. I like longer handguards. (the cut-outs are nice). I like irons, and an Aimpoint Micro. I like 20 round mags. I like small stubby VFGs. I always enjoyed Vicker's quote on weapon choice (vs. scatterguns), "I have an M4; wha...

Re: If I Only had one handgun.... Glock or what?
I haven't found any task that a G19 isn't up to. Some do it a little easier here or there, but overall the G19 is an outstanding compromise. Big enough for 'heavy' shooting (matches, training, duty) and small enough to CC. I've got pretty big paws and prefer just a touch more grip, so my G34/17 stil...

Seriously, we do live in a fortunate age. We know what makes a good AR and there are several manufacturers producing such a beast. DD, BCM, Colt, LMT. Pick one readily available in a configuration you like. Shoot until your fingers don't work and be happy.

Re: You should get your ham radio license
My boss is into this. He actually built and installed a big ass 60' tower on his property. It's got all the broad antennae things and what not, and it all transfers to a fancy radio room. I know jack about it, but it's pretty cool.

And keep your hands away from your face! Don't cough into your hands. Don't wipe your face. Don't rub your eye. Don't pick your nose.

It was a 9mm my stepbrother had purchased. I think it was a Jennings? I have the pieces somewhere upstairs. I say pieces, because when we were at the range firing it (well, him firing it... I refused to touch it...), the slide literally snapped in half. The just cracked, and sent the front half of t...
